"I had read this tire reduces your speed. I probably lost three-fourths of a mile per hour with Armadillos, but speed is not my objective. The protective band is only so wide. "I live in Phoenix, Arizona and ride about 4000 miles/year. I got tired of changing flats on almost every ride (bullhead thorns). Since I've put the Armadillo Elite tires on my bike I have had only 1 flat in the past 1000 miles. They are awesome. "

"I commute through Hollywood and Los Angeles. I constantly ride through glass and debris, not by choice (if you've been to Hollywood you know how dirty it is), and I've never had a flat in over 2000 miles of riding. If you ride in the city these are the best!!! "
