The performance features of the Speedplay Zero Pedal System read like a pro racer's wish list. No other pedal system comes close to offering the superior adjustability or cutting-edge performance features of the Zero. By thinking "outside the box", Speedplay created and patented the most technically advanced pedal system ever, featuring your choice of either a fixed position or up to 15 of micro-adjustable float. And like all Speedplay pedals, this is accomplished without compromise by ensuring that the locking edges of our pedals and cleats are made of metal, not plastic. What more needs to be said? How about Tour de France, Giro de Italia, Paris-Roubaix, Amstel Gold, Paris-Nice, World Time Trial Championship, Tour of Germany, Tour of California, Tour de Georgia, Hawaii Ironman World Championship and the countless other races that have been won by champions using Zero pedals. Speedplay Zero Pedal Systems are simply the winningest road pedals on the planet.

Not for lightweights

"I used SPDs, and I still do on my MTB. But I wanted something that would be easier to clip in and out for my road bike (you know, when you're in the left turn lane with 10 cars behind you and the light turns green). Its pretty easy to clip in and out, except it seems to require a fair amount of pressure to clip in. If you're under, say, 140 pounds you're gonna need more than just passive weight to clip in. Difficult to engage

"First the good news -- the pedals are easy to install -- compatible with most shoes. The bad news is they are nearly impossible to engage. I had the bike shop install them -- and then I rechecked installation given the difficulty associated with clipping in. End result: I'm returning them tomorrow and going w/ a new Look system. (I have an old Look system that is so easy to use -- so easy to clip in and out..." Read Full Review »

"I've tried a whole bunch of different pedals and never found a pair I completely liked until these. Others I've tried are Time, Campy, Shimano SPD, and Eggbeater. The Speedplays are unique in that they have simply switched roles of pedal and cleat. "After using the X series Speedplays for a while, I switched to the Zeros and was pleasantly surprised. The Zeros provide a noticably more solid engagement than the X series.

Great cornering clearance, easy to clip into and out of, and low stack height make these a great set of pedals. As noted, …"  Read Full Review »

"My new road bike came with the worst pedals ever made (they were thrown in free, and were exactly what you would expect from freebees).
