"Bought for my 2-year-old grandson's recent birthday, to compete with his 4 & 6-year-old sisters' dollhouses with which they'd rather he not play. As soon as the set was out of the box, all 3 of them started playing with it. This appears to be great fun for this age. Haven't had it long enough to discuss durability; however, I've never been disappointed with a Step 2 product."

"MainStreet Village are by far the best interactive playsets for preschoolers and special needs Children. My Grandson suffers with autism and doesn't verbalize. He Loves the sounds the sets make, will imitate them, and has started to verbally respond to them. We often hear "Hello" or "Goodbye" to doorbells and telephones. He is playing interactively with the entire family and will bring pieces to the grown-ups and encourage them to play with him. We've purchased almost every piece of the collection. "I first questioned adding another "set" of toys to the mix, but I couldn't resist this collection. There was so much offered for a great price. I purchased this for my two year old son's birthday, but he and his six year old brother love to play with it together. The set includes so many aspects of the community that are interesting and fun for the kids - fire, police, doctor, construction. And the puzzle style play mat stores conveniently stacked in the box. I can see that having a few pieces is much better than just one. My two year old loves it but I can see that he will grow into it more. "Wonderful playsets! Gave the 1st individual set to my granddaughter when she was 18mo. Gave her new sets as little surprises all year. Now she has around 8 sets. "This is a fun village playset, I also ordered the countryside collection. My son is 2 1/2 and loves it, and will probably play with it for many years. The only things I don't like are the barn doors don't stay in, so I just end up taking them off, and when I received the product the fire engine was broken, and I emailed Step2 and they sent a replacement in the mail immediately. Now it is fine!"
