Toshiba still builds screwy remotes, perhaps because Japanese read vertically, back to front. I've owned 3 Toshiba TVs all with dumb remotes. Their choice of button shapes is totally stupid. There are two (only two) "pill" shaped rocker switch buttons...the one on the right is for volume control, the one on the left - you'd expect channel up and down, right? - wrong - its an "inputselect" for game or TV something I might use once in my lifetime. The channel select buttons are below in the "menu set" section and form part of a circle: the top and bottom arcs of the circle move the channels up and down, the left and right arcs (you'd expect volume, right? -wrong- these are for menu selections when setting up the TV.
For some reason Toshiba thinks the never used "sleep" button is an important function and locates it next to the Power button.
The most important button to me, the MUTE button is hidden among the channel number buttons as is the channel recall (return).
With training you will be able to use the remote relatively smoothly and the TV is great and great looking so it's worth the effort - or you can buy a universal remote."
Toshiba 15" Diagonal LCD Television with Built-in DVD Player (15DLV76) Review
"After doing a great deal of research on combo flat panel / dvd TV's I selected the Toshiba, over several other brands offering a 15" screen, including Magnavox, Sharp/Aquos, Sylvania, and Polaroid. Frankly the image quality and features were superior to all aforementioned brands. The Aquos of similar size has a 640x480 resolution as compared to 1028/760 on the Toshiba. The Sharp isn't "sharper" image wise. I wanted a smaller size unit to fit on a wall in my boat. The size and thickness is such that this unit efficiently uses its dimensions Length, width, and depth, without alot of wasted size/space.
The TV has a very high resolution screen, great picture for both cable and DVD images, easy to use controls, and nice sound, although at maximum volume it isn't loud loud. If you were going to use this for "concert videos" you might consider using the audio outputs for additional speakers. Someone viewing my new TV on my boat for the first time mistook the TV for being an HD image.
The base/stand removed easily by taking out 4 screws and even though they don't tell you how to remove the stand / base in the manual, by looking at the unit and the stand it is fairly intuitive and easy to do for wall mounting.
I am very satisfied with this product"

"Purchased for 86 year old with no tech skills and he loves it! Very easy to install and use. With the integrated CD/DVD player, he is able to watch TV, movies, and listen to music in one, sharp looking, compacted device that fits well in a small retirement home apartment."
