"I recently purchased a Toshiba DVD recorder from ABT. As I am very happy with the recorder, I decided to buy a Toshiba DVD player, so that I can watch one DVD while recording another. I am very disappointed with the Toshiba SD-4000 player. "I bought two of these because the price was so cheap (24.95) and Toshiba is a reliable brand name. It is not something I would use in my main theater room but for the back bedrooms it works great! "

"Great dvd player for use with standard def tv.
Also great with receiver and stereo speakers.
This does pretty good though playing standard dvds...especially for the price.
If you have a high def tv and a nice surround sound system, I would recommend a higher end dvd player.
