"My wife and I are both over 50 and have been biking for about 3 years. We started out with the Trek 7300 hybrids and then decided we needed something a little faster to enable us to do longer trips (50-75 miles). "When I got my Trek 7.7 FX in 2006, I weighed 300 pounds. I've ridden about 1800 miles and so far lost about 50 pounds. The wheels have remained perfectly true and this bike can definitely handle the heavier riders.
