"I've continually worn the GEL-1160s and previous year styles for 4 years now. These are really great shoes. They've never given me heel blisters, which through years and years of running has been difficult to find. The shoe is really comfortable and is definitely designed for runners. I have a bit of under-pronation, and the stability sole in this shoe keeps my feet in line to help avoid injuries. After wearing ..." Read Full Review

"After reading all the great reviews, I decided to buy my first pair of Asics. This shoe hurts my feet, especially on the sides. I am highly disappointed. The extra cushioning doesn't do anything for me. I will return to buying either Nikes or New Balance. Its not the worst shoe but I thought I just needed a break in period. After a couple of weeks, it still hurts after running. I come home from the gym and can't..." Read Full Review
Pros:
"Started running Jan. '09 and these were the shoes that were chosen by a professional for me. Thank goodness they have been wonderful. I did add insoles to raise the arch while training for my second 1/2 marathon coming up in Oct.09. I ran my first 1/2 marathon without insoles and did fine. I have these in different colors and rotate shoes throughout the week."
Pros:
"These shoes run true to there size. If you`re like me and tend to compete in Half Marathons then these are the shoes.I wear wide shoes because my feet tend to swell after 5 miles of pounding on pavement & gravel. If you`re speed walking, or walking a good pace these shoes do offer the stability & cush you need to keep your workout going longer. These are my 3rd pair of ASICS I`ve owned."
Pros:
"The Gel-1140 provides excellent arch support, a wide toe area and a narrow heel. I don't tie the laces as tightly as the salesperson recommended because my feet grow numb after a mile or two. With the laces tied just right this is a fabulous running/walking shoe in dry or rainy weather."
Pros:
"I have been training for a 5K and was experiencing pain on the inside of my knees after running. After some research, I decided I needed better sneakers with some good arch support. I love these sneakers! I could tell the difference the first time I went out running and my knee pain was pretty much cured. These sneakers have good arch support, but they are still comfortable. I also like that the top of the shoe is breathable, which really helps to cool you off. The only thing to mention is that they are sort of narrow. I personally think this is a good thing because it keeps your foot secure and supported, but if anyone has a foot that runs wide, I would definitely go with the wide width on this one.
Also, this is last year's model. If you can find it in your size, go for it because it's cheaper. If you can't though, the Gel 1150 is almost identical...it's just the new version."

Cons:
"I'm a big supporter of Asics-its the only running shoe I buy. I 've tried New Balance and Nike and have always went back to Asics. They are so comfortable and provide such great support. I've had some of my Asics shoes for years. One other point about this shoe in particular is the unigue color! I highly recommend this shoe to anyone!"
Pros:
"I bought these shoes to run the Hoot to Coast relay in Oregon. For a while I've used more inexpensive ASICS that I've gotten at sales, so I knew exactly what size to get, and these were true to size. Compared to $50 shoes, these are noticably better built. It took about a couple runs to break them in, and now they are pretty comfortable. The stability and heel impact cushioning are good, and the mesh makes them very well ventilated (aka, they don't get stinky!). The biggest downside for me is they leave me a little wanting for arch support, and I've got fairly normal arches. But otherwise, they seem like a pretty good shoe for a mid-level price."
Pros:
Cons:
"Excellent running shoe. First pair I have not had to wear with my custom orthotics. Excellent cushioning for long wear."
Pros:
Cons:
"I run on pavement 4/5 days a week and wanted cusioning. The GEL-1140 delivered. I am sold on Asics. I also have a pair of GEL-100s and now switch off between the two. The specs for the GEL-1140 assured stability and cushioning for the neutral runner and that's what you delivered..............Thanks."
Pros:
"Asics is the only Brand shoe I now buy for my husband, who's a gym teacher & football coach. He recently had ACL surgery, suffers from flat feet, stress fractures, bone spurs, a detached quad, and a nagging wife who tells him to stop running & playing basketball. This brand was recommended by a running expert who analyzed my husband's athletic shoe needs.
Asics brand feels comfortable right out of the box, and allows my husband to do the things he shouldn't be doing, which makes these shoes......."Quite Possibly, Too Good"."

They've never given me heel blisters, which through years and years of running has been difficult to find. The shoe is really comfortable and is definitely designed for runners. I have a bit of under-pronation, and the stability sole in this shoe keeps my feet in line to help avoid injuries. After wearing down my previous GELs (probably well beyond their expected life), I strutted around in a few different brands to find a shoe that would help correct my abnormal foot fall and my chiropractor put me back in these. I think that speaks pretty loud."
