Wine Enthusiast Red Wine Aerator

"Really does make a difference in the taste of the wine, my GF is not a red wine drinker, but she now likes alot of the Red Wines after pouring them through this to bring out the flavours better."

"I have used the Vinturi several times.

It does a good job of adding air to the wine as it pours. I still think the wine needs time to breathe after using the Vinturi, but the product does help and cuts down on the aeration time.



However, it is somewhat awkward to use. When pouring, and the instructions mention this, wine will come out of the holes that let in the air. You must be very careful to have the Vinturi over your glass or carafe when pouring and be careful of your pour speed.



Also, it is not easy to clean sediment out of the center, although with enough washing it does clean."

"Family routine with new red wine: Set up two glasses. Pour wine directly from the bottle into the first glass (Not through the aerator). Then, pour the wine into the second glass through the aerator. Taste both glasses immediately. Family and guests love this, as they experience immediately the effects of decanting and the potential of the wine. It becomes unthinkable to drink red wine direct from the bottle without aeration or decanting. The wine becomes even better if the bottle is aerated and also poured into a decanter before drinking."

"We have been back and forth on this product as the first one that we received appeared to have a crack in it that ran from the aerator hole in a curved line up about an inch (both sides!). "The Vinturi Aerator really works, which is great for the wine's that need it, however it's not so great for the wine's that don't. It can give an almost watered down taste to the wine and take away some of the intensity of the flavor. I highly advise it, since it works very well, but I also advise tasting each bottle before using it and see if that bottle tastes better with or without it. (which is what I personally do)."

"I received my Venturi as a gift from a wine tasting friend on the day we visited the Dry Creek area of Sonoma. We took the Venturi into 6 wineries and tested/tasted all the pours before and after using the Venturi. Without exception we agreed that all the wines improved when poured through the Venturi. The Venturi rounds and balances the wine removing the rough edges. This was true of big juicy Cabs as well as a wonderful Grenache Blanc from Frick Winery. At most of the wineries we were joined by winery staff and at one winery, the winemaker himself – all shared our curiosity and all agreed with our findings. The Venturi improves the balance and characteristics of the wines tasted. Would I recommend this to a friend? "If homes and restaurants own nothing else in the way of wine accessories, they must have a Wine Aerator! To test this devise, we took a bottle of "two buck chuck" and drank a bit without aerating it and, after waiting a while, aerated a glass. The before and after taste difference was unbelievable! To our amzement, all the complexities of this inexpensive red wine were enhanced. We next tried it with much better wine and found the experience was greatly improved.
