"I mainly use this to convert my old negatives into digital pics which I store on my flash drives. It does the conversion very fast. I also like the feature that you can brighten or darken the negative, flip it horizontal or vertical and view it before onverting. Although, I noticed that a few negatives were not complete when converted. About 1/16 on the side of the negative was not captured, although the negativ..." Read Full Review

"I used it to convert slides, photos and Film. For photo conversion it is great. For film and slides conversion it has a few problemsIt is not scanning the entire slide(i.e. either one side of the slide or the other will be lost based on how you insert the slide holder because the actual scanning surface is smaller than that of the slide). This is a big problem because if you have pictures and words on the slides t..." Read Full Review
"I HAD ABOUT 6000 OLD SLIDES AND ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF PHOTO'S AND NEGATIVES TO TURN OVER TO DIGITAL FORMAT. I WAS GOING TO PICK THE PICTURES I WANTED TO CONVERT AND HAVE A LAB CONVERT THEM FOR ME. THIS PROCESS WOULD TAKE A COUPLE OF MONTHS AT THE COST OF ABOUT 40 CENTS PER SLIDE. SOME OF THE SLIDES AND PHOTOGRAPHS WERE TAKEN WITH A KODAK INSTAMATIC CAMERA, WERE 40 YEARS OLD, AND WERE NOT IN THE BEST OF CONDITION. IT WAS TAKING SO LONG TO LOOK AT EACH SLIDE I DECIDED TO TRY AND CONVERT THE SLIDES MYSELF. I TRIED A FLATBED PHOTO SCANNER AND THE RESULTS WERE GOOD, BUT IT TOOK A VERY LONG TIME TO SCAN. I DECIDED TO TRY THE WOLVERINE CONVERTER AFTER READING THE REVIEWS. UPON RECEIVING THE UNIT I WAS VERY SKEPTICAL BECAUSE OF THE WIEGHT OF THE UNIT. IT FELT LIKE THERE WAS NOTHING INSIDE THE CASE. TO MY SURPRISE THE MACHINE WAS VERY EASY TO SET UP, AND WHEN I TRIED THE FIRST SLIDE IT SCANNED SO FAST I DIDN'T THINK IT WORKED. I TRIED ANOTHER SLIDE AND HAD THE SAME REACTION. WHEN I REVIEWED THE SCAN I WAS AMAZED AT THE QUALITY OF THE TRANSFER. ONCE I ORGANIZED EVERYTHING I SCANNED ALL THE SLIDES IS 3 DAYS. THE MACHINE IS VERY FAST AND THE QUALITY OF THE TRANSFER IS MORE THAN ACCEPTABLE. I NOTICED IF THE SLIDE IN UNDEREXPOSED THE TRANSFER HAS A REDISH TINT WHICH YOU CAN CORRECT WITH YOUR PHOTO EDITOR. WHEN IT CAME TO THE PICTURE TRANSFER AGAIN I WAS A LITTLE SKEPTICAL BECAUSE YOU CAN ONLY SCAN ONE PHOTO AT A TIME. THE FIRST PHOTO TRANSFER LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL PHOTO. THE PHOTO HOLDER IS EASY TO LOAD AND THE SCAN PROCESS FROM THE TIME YOU PUT THE PHOTOGRAPH IN THE FILM HOLDER UNTIL IT IS SCANNED ONLY TAKES ABOUT 5 SECONDS. AGAIN THE SCAN WAS SO FAST I DIDN'T THINK IT WORKED. HOW FAST? YOU PUT THE SLIDE OR PHOTO IN THE CARRIER AND PUSH A BUTTON. YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY SCAN THE NEXT PICTURE. FILM NEGATIVES GO INTO A CARRIER AND YOU SCAN 4 PHOTO NEGATIVES IN UNDER 10 SECONDS. I NOTICED THE PICTURE SCAN PRODUCES A BETTER SCAN THAN THE NEGATIVE. THE REASON IS DEPENDING ON YOUR PHOTO LAB THEY CORRECTED THE FILM EXPOSURE DURING THE DEVELOPING PROCESS AND THEN MADE THE PRINT. THE TRANSFER FROM A NEGATIVE PRODUCES AN EXACT COPY OF THE ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH. THIS IS AN AMAZING MACHINE. THE PICTURES SUBMITTED ARE PROBABLY 40 YEARS OLD AND HAVE NOT BEEN RETOUCHED AFTER SCANNED. I INSERTED A 32GB CARD INTO THE WOLVERINE AND THIS ALLOWS YOU TO TRANSFER ABOUT 37 PHOTOGRAPHS AT A TIME INTO THE COMPUTER. THE TRANSFER INTO THE COMPUTER IS VERY FAST. ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN CONVERTING OLD SLIDES OR FILM SHOULD TRY THIS MACHINE. THE RESULTS ARE AMAZING AND I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT."
Pros:
"For the price this is a goodproduct, if you want to put your film, slides, and negative into digital format, but don't expect to be able to enlarge them into great looking photos. The resolution is less than 1MB each in digital format--you can't do much with that, but it is good for saving and sharing old memories. I use Aperture and can clone out most dust that doesn't brush off. I also lower the light 1-2 steps, as brighter colors seem to wash out. Still, for the price it is a quick and easy way to save your old images and transform them in digital files. Much easier and faster than using a flat scanner..."

"I am using this scanner to archive my old slides and negatives so I can share them with family members. So far I have been relatively impressed. Scan time is like 1-2 seconds and the quality is above average but for the price is pretty decent. Dimensions of the files are generally 3648 x 2736 and around 820 KB on average. It is very convenient to save direct to an SD card. This is extremely helpful not having to worry about drivers between computers. I too have noticed some cropping from side to side but you have the ability to move the tray around some to get the best perspective out of each picture. You do not get the full range of shadows from slides but most look good enough to share with others."

"I'm reliving my past as I convert my color slides, color negatives and black and white negatives. After conversion I'm creating powerpoint presentations for specific topics. It's amazing that this small device can really so such a wonderful job. Now I don't have to wonder what to do with the my collection. It will be given to family members and friends."
Pros:
"We have old negatives in boxes, and old prints missing the negatives. Some go back to the 1950s. I researched different models and this is the best, for price and quality and ease of use. This Wolverine SNaP converts easily and quickly. We can, but don't have to hook it up to the computer as we use it. We can spread the prints out over the kitchen table and convert them to the SD card. Love it!"

"I am going back through drawers of miscellaneous exposed film negatives and converting them to jpegs for posting on Facebook. So far, I have managed to embarrass several friends and family members with pictures that they thought, and hoped, were gone forever.
I took the unit out of the box and was using it in minutes. The directions were clear. The only thing that needs improvement is that the tray that holds the negative is not easy to open. If you have lots of negatives to convert, it slows you down a little.
My fiancée wasn't impressed with my purchase of this unit, until she saw the results. Now, she wants to go back though her negatives and convert them."
Pros:
"I reviewed a lot of slide "scanners" and was concerned with the quality. Previously I had been using an HP 4670 flatbed scanner with slide attachment. I have over 4,000 slides and the amount of time the HP required wasn't getting it done. The resolution also came out low.
The Wolverine images are a minimum of 500K in size and I was blown away by the quality as compared with the HP. Comparing the images side by side, sometimes the HP has a slight edge but I attribute most of that to not taking the same amount of time to improve the image in Paintshop Pro. After restoring the color through fade correction, these 50 year old slides look like digital photos now. If you are a professional, you may find fault with this but my interest is converting my entire slide collection to digital and while quality matters, it my standard is less than someone who does this for a living. It ias also a very fast process. I was able to scan 400 slides in just a few hours. I spent anoter few hours sprucing them up using Paintshop PRO I am well satisfied with the results. AT least I know I will now be able to complete the task. Before I wasn't so certain. It doesn't scan the entire slide so sometimes someones head or eyes will be cut off. I get around this by moving the slide in the carrier."

This is a big problem because if you have pictures and words on the slides then either part of the pictures or part of the words are gone. So to get both we have to scan each slide twice one one half first time and then the other half and later photoshop them. Doing this is a pain in the [*]. I had the same problem with the film but not as bad as the slides.I sincerly hope that they correct this."
Pros:
"I've been looking for an affordable scanner for several years that would produce respectable results from many years of (primarily) slides and photos that I've accumulated. Based on the design features, versatility, and favorable reviews by other buyers, I decided to purchase this product. I tried the unit for the first time today. Granted, it's not professional quality, but I was extremely impressed with the quality of a 5X7" professional portrait and several old slides that I was able to quickly scan and download to my iMac. Using the iPhoto features of my computer, I was able to further 'tweek' images, if necessary. However, the initial scan quality was quite good, and little adjustments, if any, were required. Resolution and color reproduction aspects were quite good. The only real drawback I experienced concerned the need to carefully position slides within the carrier due to partial loss of image margins. The SNaP seems to be more than worth its price, and I can't wait to dig in to my library of 1000+ images I will be using for Powerpoint teaching applications and digital scrap-books of family photos. One final note: be sure to purchase extra optional slide carriers so you can expedite the scanning process."
