"I can still read a street sign 50 yards away, but I can't read a book right in front of my face. Sometimes I forget to put a pair of regular reading glasses in my shirt pocket, but I NEVER go out without my Minifolds. I keep them with my car keys, and they go in my pocket together. Actually, I bought my first pair fifteen years ago, and I'd be lost without them (sometimes literally, if I couldn't read a map). They're also surprisingly durable, considering how delicate they are. One small problem: the case is weak at the hinge. I deal with this by reinforcing the case with a small, fat rubber band. (See the attached image.) Anyone considering this product, DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE IMITATIONS. There are some cheaper versions out there (with a similar mock-tortoise case), but they're easy to spot: the temples are hinged. The hinged temple version is very flimsy. The READ DEAL Minifold has SLIDING temples. AND, not that it's important, but people go nuts when you take them out, unfold them and put them on.
