If there are some aspects of your outdoor wardrobe that you simply can't go without, Marmot's PreCip Jacket is likely one of them. Built for rain, it'll keep you ultra-dry with a full visibility roll up hood with Peripheral Cord adjustment and lightweight PreCip fabric that allows water to evaporate while shedding outside moisture - even the fully taped seems won't allow any water in.

  • Stay dry and comfortable no matter what the weather is doing with durable PreCip Dry Touch technology that simultaneously allows your skin to breathe while retarding precipitation
  • When the rain comes down hard, pull on the hood and use the Peripheral Cord to adjust the fit to your head; when you don't need it, roll it up into the integral collar
  • Keep cool by adjusting the PitZips, and if you need to keep the wind out, tighten the elastic draw cord hem
  • Not a drop of water will get in thanks to fully taped seams and the double storm flap over the zipper with snap and Velcro closures
  • You won't look boxy in this jacket with its female-specific cut
  • Keep warmer with DriClime fabric on the chin guard as it wicks moisture away from your skin and prevents you from feeling cold and clammy
  • When you need a little extra warmth, layer it over a fleece - you'll still be able to move freely with Angle-Wing Movement construction that provides extra room through the chest
  • Stow your pocket knife or GPS in the Pack Pockets
  • Weight: 11 ounces
    • Waterproofing: PreCip Dry Touch coating
      • Fabric: nylon

PreCip gives big bang for the bucks

"Ive been very impressed with my Marmot PreCip jacket so far. Luckily for me, it arrived about a week prior to Hurricane Isabel. We only saw the outer bands of the storm here, but the rains were pretty heavy. I was really wishing I had ordered the pants. The jacket never felt clammy or damp inside despite exertion. I plan to buy two more as gifts for my brothers. Ive never seen a better rain shell for equal..." Read Full Review »

Nice jacket, but it does get wet

"This jacket is very light and I can easily fit it in the smallest stuff bag I have. It has great design (lots of pockets, pit zippers, great hood). But it also has one big problem: it's not waterproof enough. Since I mostly hike in the rainy Pacific NorthWest, the jacket gets tons of rain on it and it doesn't hold on to the weather very often. Usually it starts getting wet only after 2 hours of good rain. But th..." Read Full Review »
